DropControl (API)
The DropSense96 can be used as a standalone polychromatic spectrophotometer or can be integrated in fully automated environment. The Trinean DropSense96 instrument is designed for integration with liquid handling robots:
Physical integration:
The DropPlate is designed for automatic dispensing of the sample by liquid handling robots (dimensions are compatible with SBS standard, and self-filling of the sample in the microfluidic meander allows longer storage times of the filled DropPlate)
- The mechanical design of the disposable and the in/out tray of the instrument are compatible with the grippers of liquid handling robots
- The instrument has mechanical features for indexing the position of the instrument on the work bench.
Software integration (API):
Trinean offers an “application programming interface” (API) for communication between a third party program or script with the DropQuant software.
In remote mode (typically if the DropSense96 instrument is integrated with liquid handling robots in a fully automated lab environment), a script communicates with the DropQuant software and controls the measurement. Once the script is running, no further user interaction is required (for example: no need to click to “start button” to load a new disposable: instead the script sends commands to the DropQuant software to open and close the tray).
