The optical instruments developed by Trinean are based on two scalable features: patented protected microfluidic structures for microliter sample handling and a novel multichannel spectrometry system. The combination of these two innovative technologies opens up a broad range of applications where reduced sample sizes and increased throughput results in important advantages in terms of cost, measurement speed and accuracy.

The first product developed by Trinean is the DropSense96®, a unique microliter plate reader combined with microfluidic DropPlate16/96® chips. This new generation of polychromatic microliter spectrophotometer and consumables will be suitable for high-throughput UV-VIS spectral analysis of 0 5-2 5 µl droplets in manual or automated labs. Using the intuitive software, the sample wells containing a specimen can be selected by clicking on a button and the full UV/VIS absorption spectrum of the samples is then displayed. The DropSense96 is connected to a PC for display of the data and additional printing or storage. Furthermore, the user software is flexible, easy-to-use and compatible with Microsoft Excel or/and external databases or LIMS systems.
